About The Job
The Senior Carpenter is responsible for leading carpentry projects, supervising junior carpenters, and delivering high-quality woodwork for residential, commercial, or industrial projects. This role requires expertise in construction techniques, precision, and the ability to interpret designs and blueprints accurately.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and execute complex carpentry projects including furniture, fixtures, cabinetry, and structural woodwork.
Read and interpret architectural drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
Supervise, mentor, and train junior carpenters and apprentices.
Ensure all work meets quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
Select, measure, cut, and assemble wood, veneers, laminates, and related materials.
Maintain and operate carpentry tools, machinery, and equipment safely and efficiently.
Estimate materials, costs, and project timelines accurately.
Collaborate with clients, project managers, and other trades to ensure smooth project execution.
Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of carpentry work and tools.
Requirements
Proven experience as a carpenter, with at least 4–8 years in a senior or supervisory role.
Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and carpentry machinery.
Strong knowledge of wood types, finishes, joinery, and construction methods.
Ability to read technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
Knowledge of health and safety standards in carpentry and construction.
Work Conditions
On-site work, often in residential, commercial, or industrial environments.
Physical ability to lift heavy materials and work with precision.
May involve extended hours to meet project deadlines.
Reports to: Project Manager / Site Supervisor.
